Games

Games are shown in the game view. The game view contains by default three sections: an upper section showing in a table the most important information of the games, like the players' names, the result, the event etc. The middle part of the view contains the board with an additional control bar at its side. And the lower part shows, if a single game has been selected, the notation of the game.

When working with the database, the upper part may alternatively contain a notation table or a list of next variations.

Games can be added to the database by touching the "add-symbol" in the navigation bar. When one or more games are selected they can be deleted, moved or copied to another database by touching the "action"-symbol in the lower toolbar. When the "action"-symbol is touched, also other options related to the selected games become available.

It is often not efficient to work on all games within a database. To limit temporarily the number of games by certain criteria, the magnifying glass should be touched. This opens up a view allowing entering multiple options for filtering the games. When filters are active, the magnifying glass is shown in red. By touching the magnifying glass again the filters may also be deactivated again.

If a game is selected or the notation table is present, the toolbar next to the board can be used to navigate through the game and/or the variations. Furthermore, the toolbar also allows to swap the orientation of the board as well as to change the game view's mode.

The grey bars on top and bottom of the board allow to move and to resize the board. The board size is limited to some minimum and maximum values that depend on the size of the game view.

The game notation below the board can also be used to navigation through the game by touching the notation of a move. By doing so move becomes selected and the corresponding position is shown on the board.
